Agrauxine and InTerra Pro sign a partnership agreement to distribute Nexy®, the first biocontrol solution approved for post-harvest use on apples and pears.
Agrauxine by Lesaffre has just signed an exclusive partnership with InTerra Pro to distribute Nexy® to the apple-pear sector. Used post-harvest, this innovative biosolution on the French market effectively combats storage diseases, a sensitive and highly strategic factor in maintaining the commercial quality of fruit.
Naturally fights post-harvest rot and preserves yields
Approved in 2016 for post-harvest use, Nexy®, designed and developed by Agrauxine, is a truly innovative solution based on natural yeast. Approved for both conventional and organic farming, Nexy® preserves apple and pear harvests by blocking the development of pathogenic fungi (botrytis and penicillium spp) responsible for post-harvest rot. With no Maximum Residue Limit, Nexy® is fully in line with the "zero residue" approach, and perfectly meets societal and environmental expectations.
"Without protection, these pathogenic fungi affect an average of 15% of apples and pears in France when they leave the fridge, and up to a quarter of the fruit in the most sensitive varieties is then discarded. With the marketing of Nexy®, the challenge is to preserve fruit as well as possible, and to maximize the commercial quality of harvests," explains Véronique Depouilly, Director of Operations at InTerra Pro.
