Interview of Bruno Mendonça, Brazil Market Development Manager at Agrauxine by Lesaffre, who joined the company in August 2016.
My role is to be the voice of customers in my region to Agrauxine at a global level. Ultimately, it means contributing to make their business more profitable and our company more acknowledged.
One of my main missions at Agrauxine is to investigate our products and translate it into marketing opportunities, besides importing marketable solutions of Agrauxine from overseas to the territory where I am based, Latin America.
Even though Brazil may be a land of opportunities for our segment, it is quite challenging yet as it is a wide territory, thus more difficult to manage.
Brazilian Biocontrol landscape is highly competitive. Therefore, to succeed in such market conditions, it is necessary to provide cost effective solutions, innovative products which are not easily imitated, reproduced.
It is also a challenging task to convince distributors that you have the best solution to them: it takes patience, investment of time and money from the company. Moreover, resilience and knowing the product and the marketplace.
I had the privilege of working with Romeo SC since the early stage of the product and I assisted to develop it in Brazil and to find a partner to distribute it.
I remember going to France in 2016, being introduced to Romeo, then the first question that came to my mind was “What if this solution is effective to Asian Soybean Rust management?” Fortunately, we could find out a couple years after that the answer is yes!
Romeo SC had desirable features that allowed me to convince a potential customer to assess its performance on the field, which are: unique, innovative, cost effective and applicable to a relevant market segment: Asian Soybean Rust management.
