Tri-Soil®, an effective solution against Rhizoctonia brown spot in lettuce

To combat Rhizoctonia solani on lettuce, the Tri-Soil® biocontrol solution developed by Agrauxine is available on the French market, and provides effective control of pathogenic fungi, acting through spatial and nutritive competition, with results to back it up.

It's important to note that the synthesis of 11 BPE (good experimental practice) field trials conducted in France, Italy and Germany from 2007 to 2017 highlighted results comparable to the chemical reference (48% eff.) with an improvement in yield (around 10%). The results also highlighted that soil texture (sand, silt, sand/silt/clay, etc.) has no impact on Tri-Soil's efficacy.

On the scale of a single lettuce variety for a single farm, the results of field studies show Tri-Soil® to be genuinely effective:

In 2017, field trials carried out at Maugio (34) on the "Reine des Glaces" lettuce variety, with favourable climatic conditions and artificial contamination 1 day before planting, showed that Tri-Soil® was effective under conditions of high disease pressure, comparable to the chemical reference:

  • A reduction in the percentage of infected lettuces

  • Reduction in the percentage of unmarketable lettuce (55% eff.)
  • An increase in marketable yield (+34%; +5T)

In 2017, a second series of field trials conducted at Gennes (49) on the Chicory variety "Kalinka", without artificial contamination, highlighted the benefits of Tri-Soil:

A reduction in the percentage of infected lettuces (25% eff.)
A reduction in the percentage of unmarketable lettuces (75% eff.)
An increase in marketable yield (+1%; 0.7T)
